“South Outdoor Festival” has opened the curtain for three days in Pilur valley to promote the deep mountain areas of Vlora region.
In the event participated the Minister of Economic Development, of Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship, Milva Ekonomi, accompanied by the Minister of Energy, Damian Gjiknuri, the majors of Vlora and Himara communes, and the Director of GIZ in Albania, Hans-Jürgen Cassens.
The opening of the tourist season in Himara, this time, was focused not only on promoting the sea but also the mountain to show that tourism does not only mean the sea and the summer season, but also mountain tourism and adventure tourism, therefore all-year tourism.
During the 3-day time span of the festival, the participants will have the chance to engage in different sport activities, such as: hiking, mountain biking, diving, Jeep safari, paragliding, etc.
Live music, iso-polyphony [the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage] and other cultural activities alike, will be present during the whole festival.
The villagers, as hosts, will cook using their bio products and prepare traditional dishes of Pilur. A fair of local products will offer the chance to people to not only see, taste and appreciate, but also buy any product.
For all those that would like to take with them their kids, a lots of activities are foreseen even for the kids.
Authorities intend this event to become annual and bring opportunities for the development of the surrounding areas.
