KFW Bank will invest 10 million euro in order to supply water and build a sewage network in 7 cities of the country. Beneficiaries of this funding are the cities of Berat, Kuçova, Delvina, Gjirokastra, Kamza, Librazhd, and Lushnja.
Agreement (SECO II) between KFW and the Republic of Albania, represented by the Minister of Finance, for financing the III / IV municipal infrastructure program, is published in the Official Gazette and will be applied after 15 days. The program is co-funded by “Swiss Contribution II” and “German Contribution”.
It is learned that the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the National Water Supply and Sewerage Agency, will act as a Program Coordination Unit (NPU) and water supply and sewerage enterprises will act as a Project Implementation Agency (PIA)
Administrative losses have remained alarming for some years, at 67%, while the performance of operators is poor.
