After many months of controversy, accusations and counter-accusations between them, Prime Minister and opposition leader finally reached an agreement.
After a “face-to-face” meeting of about 3 hours in the in the Assembly they reached the agreement thus giving an end to the political crisis.
The two political leaders at around 1:15 AM after midnight pave the way to resolving the political crisis when they stated that they reached an agreement between them based on the “McAllister +” platform.
“We have an agreement based on the McAllister + platform. The deal will be seen in details in the next 24 hours, and then we will have a full statement about the details, “Basha said.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated: “I agree 100% with the opposition’s leader”.
After the news of the agreement reached, Lulzim Basha addressed to the “Tent of Freedom” where the opposition has been holding protests for several months, to deliver the news. From the tent, Basha stated that from Thursday will begin preparations so they can manage free and fair elections for the Albanian citizens.
“Everything has changed, tomorrow we start preparations to give free and fair elections to Albanians and to move along to the way of changing Albania, based on the citizens will”, Basha declared from the tent.
There is expected the details to be given in the next 24 hours. The parties have specifically left such a time as today is expected the decision that will be taken by the Electoral College, which will most likely cancel the June 18th elections, to open a new date for parliamentary elections in the country.
