BRUSSELS – Regarding the unexpectedly quick resolution of the situation in Macedonia and Albania, Kocijančič did not want to state whether the last effective pressure in both countries was done by the EU or the US, Meta reports.
“I don’t believe it’s a case of a miracle, but a result of a hard work and political will. When talking about Western Balkans, as you know, it’s a region that has an EU-perspective, where EU has been engaged. That refers to the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia. As you have seen previously, we reacted to this development of the situation and will continue to provide support for both countries including the whole region. You know that the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy has invited the six prime ministers from the countries of Western Balkans on an informational dinner next week, on the 24th of May in Brussels, during which talks will be held about all current happenings in the Western Balkans and how to continue onward,” said Kocijancic.
Asked who will participate at the meeting and whether Zaev will receive a special invitation in case he is not able officially to form a government by then, Kocijančič said that at the moment she can say that the invitations have been sent to the prime ministers, and the names of the participants will be confirmed shortly before the visit.
“We shall ask you for a patience, but until May 24 you shall know who will come”, said Kocijančič.
