Current President, Bujar Nishani sent a congratulatory message to France’s newly elected president, Emmanuel Macron. As he congratulates him on the fulfillment of his post, Nishani says Macron’s victory is also encouraging for Albania and for all Western Balkan countries that have orientated their future towards the EU.
Additionally, Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati stressed that Emmanuel Macron’s victory is not only a good news for France and Europe, but also for Albania, which aspires to become part of the EU.
“Warmest, deepest wishes for your victory Emmanuel Macron! Your victory is a good news for France, Europe and of course for Albanians who aspire to become part of the European Union, “Bushati writes in a Facebook post.
According to preliminary information, Emmanuel Macron won the runoff with more than 65% of the vote, while Le Pen accepted the defeat through a press conference
