Today’s opposition protest took the attention of even some of the prestigious foreign media. ABC news and Washington Post highlighted the fact that DP leader Basha was accompanied by his two daughters and wife, calling it as “extraordinary”. Thus, means the protest was going to be peaceful.
According to ABC News and Washington Post, thousands of Albanians joined the protest which was being held at the noon on the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard in Tirana.
“Albanian opposition launched a national protest on Saturday seeking a caretaker government that will guarantee free and fair elections in the country. Thousand people joint the protest in the main square, “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard and in front of Prime Minister Rama’s office. The front part of the prime ministry was guarded by hundreds of policemen, and many streets were temporarily blocked”- the foreign media read.
