Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Brian Yee assessed the final position of the two political leaders in Albania, which led to the agreement being reached, for which he said the last words.
“Albanian opposition undertook a bold decision to change its position by deciding to take part in the elections that were postponed. But here we mention Rama, who had to find the necessary flexibility to persuade the opposition to return to the race. This is very profitable for Albania itself,” – the US official said.
Yee also commented on the political situation in Macedonia, which also was established after his visit there. “Success lies with the leaders of the countries that were able to make difficult decisions, such as Macedonia, where President Ivanov decided to give the coalition mandate to the majority parliament in order to pave the way for the formation of the government,”- he said.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Asia, Hoyt Brian Yee, had a few days ago a tour in the countries of the region Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro.
Hoyt Brian Yee, speaking in front of the Subcommittee on Foreign Relations, after returning from a visit to the Balkans, stated that Moscow is trying to curb the integration of this region with financial and political means, defining this as the influx of the Russians in the Balkans.
