Alexander Vucic reacted a few days after Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama’s declaration for unification with Kosovo, in case that EU closes the doors of membership for Albania.
The Serbian Prime Minister appealed on Albanian politicians not to invoke for unity of the two countries, because such statements have a bad impact for the peace in the region.
“We plead with them – I repeat – we plead with them not to give such statements in public as they do not contribute to good relations in the region; nor do they contribute to building a common cooperative working environment for important projects”- Vucic stated in the press conference at the Serbian Government premises.
Rama’s sensational declaration was followed by another strong statement by Hashim Thaci, Kosovo’s President, which reconfirmed the same attitude as the Albanian Prime Minister.
“If the European Union closes the doors for Kosovo, then all Albanians in the region will live in a single space“, Thaci said.
