The United States appeals on all the Albanian parties to participate the elections.
The appeal comes from the American vice-secretary of State for Political Affairs, Thomas A. Shannon.
Shannon, during the meeting with FM Ditmir Bushati, urged for a wide involvement of political parties in the elections, while expressing his attitude against opposition’s boycott warnings.
Additionally, the meeting consisted on the mutual interests of bilateral relations and in the Balkan region, while the US ambassador reaffirmed the close partnership between the United States and Albania, as well as the US’s strong support for Albania’s efforts to reform the justice system.
