Deputy Assistant Secretary State Hoyt Brian Yee is in Tirana for the last attempts in order to reach a political agreement between the ruling majority and the opposition for parliamentary elections.
A day before his arrival in Albania he called on all the parties to not boycott the elections.
During his speech at the 2BS Regional Security Forum in Budva, Montenegro, Hoyt Brian Yee said that the governments in Balkans region must fight against corruption and regional leaders need to find the political courage to make the necessary reforms for the interest of citizens.
“MPs should represent and protect the interests of citizens. MPs cannot abstain from their responsibility by boycotting the parliament”- senior official Yee said.
US deputy assistant secretary Yee arrived in Tirana today and his visit is seen as the last chance to reach a compromise between the leading majority and the opposition which will lead to a solution of the political crisis running recently in Albania.
