Deterioration in the opposition’s political speech seems to have made the international institutions in the country fear a possible violence’ outbreak.
For this reason they appeal for a peaceful protest in accordance with the European standards.
“The right for a peaceful protest is one of the basic elements of democracy. There is no place for violence in Albania in 2017,” OSCE wrote on Twitter.
DP’s leader, Lulzim Basha, addressed to Prime Minister Rama, frequent warnings about the possibilities of a clash, which, according to him, may be out of control if the protesters’ dissatisfaction increases. One of the reasons why Prime Minister Rama was withdrawn from the elections of Kavaja city municipality was to avoid violence. But this scenario might happen tomorrow when the opposition has called a militant rally. All this march, according to DP leader Basha, is a force indicator to make Prime Minister Rama resign and then to establish a technical government that would manage parliamentary elections as well.
While European Union institutions have urged the opposition to pave the way and participate the elections process of June 18.
