The Albanian opposition started today the so-called “civil disobedience”.
There were several streets blocked in various cities of Albania such as Fier, Lushnja, Elbasan etc
Today, at 11AM, at the “Eagle” square, were gathered protesters from various districts of the country. The Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha, joined them as well.
Basha along with his supporters sat on the ground, blocking all the traffic. For about 30 minutes, the Democratic Party leader heard protesters’ calls for the Prime Minister Edi Rama to leave his post and for the existing criminality through cultivation and drug trafficking.
Shortly after the end of the protest, the Democratic Party leader addressed to the protesters, pointing out that the opposition will not hand over the country to the crime and drugs. According to Basha, only the caretaker government is the solution for ensuring free and fair elections.
The protest was concluded with the singing of the national anthem and the unblocking of the traffic. Then the protesters peacefully marched to the center of Tirana and stopped at the tent sat by the opposition in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.
