Minister of Internal Affairs Dritan Demiraj held a meeting with Ambassador Peter Tejler, OSCE ODIHR Chief of Mission and Polyna Lemos, Deputy Speaker of the Mission, where he declared the priority of his work, the non-inclusion of police in the electoral process, and neutralizing the possibility of buying votes from unclear sources.
According to the press statement, Demiraj briefed Ambassador Tejler on the plan of measures for the conduct of the June 25th elections, where over 7,000 State Police officers were trained on concrete tasks during the process and special messages were given to three regional directorates at the regional level, for the neutralization of problems from subjects, individuals and criminal groups.
For his part, OSCE ODIHR Chief of Mission Peter Taylor presented the objectives of his work, the role in the monitoring and reporting process of 250 observers, and shared views on the vote-buying phenomenon and the potential to influence in voting through various pressures. He stressed that monitoring in the last week will be more intense and one day after the elections will come up with a preliminary report.
