Greek Communist Party activists blocked the Albanian military force traveling with the NATO flag to participate in the Noble Jump alliance drill.
The news was first published by the official radio station of the Communist Party, 902 FM.
Leftist activists were standing yesterday night in midway, stopping the military convoy to continue the way to Romania, which is the ultimate destination. They demand that the convoy be returned in Albania.
They were carrying banners in their hands, writing “NATO killers go home”.
There also was a communist member of the Greek parliament and and MEP among the crowd.
Many police forces were deployed at the scene but until late afternoon the convoy remained blocked and protesters threatened not to move if the Albanian military convoy would not turn back.
