The European Union’s top diplomat has called on the Democratic Party-led opposition in Albania to end its ongoing parliamentary boycott and re-engage in the legislative process, writes Martin Banks.
The demand, by Federica Mogherini , the EU’s High Representative/vice president, comes among rising tensions in Albania and on the eve of a high level EU delegation to Tirana on Monday (24 April) which is designed to help resolve the impasse.
It is claimed that opposition legislators are boycotting the country’s parliament to block justice reforms required to kick-start EU membership negotiations with Brussels. –Eureporter reads.
