World renown Albanian soprano Ermonela Jaho will go in Washington after the sheer success she got in London, where critics highly praised her interpretation . On upcoming Saturday, in Washington, she will bring a Cio-Cio San, the young Japanese girl who married American Pinkerton, with all its fragility, magic and tragedy, with a radius of emotions that radically differ from one act to another. Ermonela says by each time she performs “Madame Butterfly”, her character grows, matures, while at the same time remains the same young and fresh girl.
She attributes the passion by which she interprets the roles, precisely to the intensity by which as Ermonela says, Albanians express the joy and sorrows, as well as her personal life experience.
“It does not matter if you come from Albania, or any other nation of the world, at the moment you speak with the language of your heart and you are genuine on the stage, it is impossible not to touch, not to resonate with the hearts of people from any nationality. And that has always been my secret of doing art” – she says.
