Albanians are Europe’s most politicized people. The outcome comes from a joint survey by the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which asked 51 thousand families in 29 different countries of Europe and Central Asia.
According to the survey, about 21 % of citizens in Albania have joined a political party.
Albania’s rank on the world top, by political activism, is not inconsistent. The survey reveals that the poorer the country is, the more politicized it is. So beyond the passion for politics, there are other reasons why Albanians flock to parties.
