President Bujar Nishani, received today in a meeting, Zhang Gaoli, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and First Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.
The head of the state appreciated the friendly relations between the two countries, and highlighted the expansion of economic cooperation with the Chinese state.
Additionally, the president briefed the Chinese official on developments in the Balkan region, highlighting the progress made towards peace and stability which stemmed from armed conflicts and violence that accompanied the disintegration of the former Yugoslavia, as well as positive developments in this aspect, particularly after Kosovo’s independence.
President Nishani expressed his belief that the role of the People’s Republic of China will expand its positive effects in the Western Balkans, particularly concerning to the independence of Kosovo.
At the end of the meeting, Nishani conveyed through Mr. Gaoli, warm wishes to President of the People’s Republic of China, and an invitation to visit Albania whenever suitable.
