Albania continues to be among the countries with the lowest air quality in Europe, and consequently with a very high mortality rate.
According to the latest World Health Organization (WHO) data, Eastern European and Balkan countries, such as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Ukraine, have the highest degree of air pollution and deaths caused due to this factor.
Statistics say Albania is the third in Europe for mortality due to air pollution, after Bosnia and Bulgaria.
