The elections will be postponed by only one week. Prime Minister Edi Rama and opposition leader Lulzim Basha, expressed gratitude to the United States and the European Union for their contribution to strengthening democracy and the rule of law in Albania, and in particular to resolving the political situation for the 2017 elections.
Both parties confirm their will for dialogue as an expression of the necessity for a new level of political dialogue in the country. In this aspect, the parties take responsibility to institutionalize the dialogue between the Prime Minister and opposition leader.
The engagement of the parties for democratic elections will be an essential part of the joint and a continuous contribution of the parties in the aspect of opening negotiations and advancing the country in the process of European integration of Albania.
