Political situation in Albania has made even the foreign scholars and analysts put their focus on the wrong political decisions.
South East European Studies Center’s Director, Florian Bieber, at Grace University, made an analysis on the political situation in Albania and its consequences.
“What is happening in Albania is a reflection of a highly polarized political climate between the Democratic Party and the Socialist Party that has been existing for two decades that continues to burst and continues to be used by any opposition force over the last decade” Mr.Bieber said.
“If there will be elections held without opposition’s participation, the outcome will not be legitimate even if the process is free and fair, without the main opposition party, their credibility is undermined, which is devastating, and what the region needs is a stable government which can make the country move forward. Albania has good chances to make quick steps towards EU process, but these are internal congestions that pose obstacles for the country”– he added.
