The Montenegrin Parliament approved on April 28th the country’s NATO membership. Montenegro hopes to become officially part of NATO during the summit in May in Brussels.
Till then, two of the 28 member states, Spain and the Netherlands, will have to approve the document that Montenegrin Parliament approved on April 28th.
Montenegro’s NATO membership would further reinforce the alliance’s presence in the Balkans, while Greece, Croatia and Albania are already members.
