OSCE has published the 2016 report for Albania, which states that the country suffers from corruption, which is also reflected on the economic development.
According to the report, over the past year, the subject of discussions was the justice reform, which is one of the main pillars for fighting corruption; however, we still except to see whether this will be effective when applied.
“The international presence has provided support to the central and local-level Albanian authorities in their efforts to fight corruption and promote good leadership at all levels. It is necessary to build the capacity to fight corruption and promote appropriate behavior in business sector. Additionally, it is required to raise awareness among young people of issues related to corruption, and to encourage them to become more engaged in civil society and consultative processes”, Monitor writes quoting the OSCE report for 2016.
