Albanian is one of the countries with the highest levels of bullying.
According to a study that the European Union and European Council have conducted, results show that 1 in 5 Albanian students, from 4th to 12th grade, is a victim or a perpetrator of bullying in Albanian schools.
The study included 141 high schools and primary schools, and identified that bullying is more widespread in private schools.
Bullying directly affects the mental and physical health of the students, causing them severe headaches or even depression.
Also, victims of bullying sometimes refuse to go school and often have remedial performance in school.
