Seems that we still do not have an agreement between the opposition and the majority. Sources for Tirana Today announce that yesterday at 21:00, Basha informed the allies that Rama was withdrawn from the McAllister platform. Thus, the Prime Minister does not accept another date for elections except June 18th since this is a constitutional date.
It is worth mentioning that the opposition has accepted the implementation of Vetting. Therefore, the disagreement about the elections date is the only thing keeping the political parties apart.
On the other hand, opposition called for the postponement of the elections until the implementation of electronic voting and bio-metric voter identification.
Why “McCallister” platform failed?
Opposition leader gave up on:
1.Vetting approval in accordance with the agreement of July 21 last year
2.Creation of a caretaker government
His requests consisted on:
1.Postponement of parliamentary elections
2.Electronic vote counting
3. Bio-metric identification of voters
Prime minister declined:
1.Postponement of the elections
2.The other options left for a later solution
