The first quarter of this year marked a doubling of the number of foreigners who visited Albania.
According to the Institute of Statistics, 115 thousand of foreign citizens entered Albania during this period.
Foreign tourists are showing more and more interest, as Albania is favored by relatively low-cost prices. This factor is thought to have a significant influence in case of a prolonged economic crisis in Europe.
Additionally, the country is gaining more interest from foreigners, for the fact that international operators have promoted it as a new and less explored destination.

Meanwhile, the departures of Albanian citizens, outside the country, for the first three months of the year, grew slightly, by 1.7% compared with the same period of the previous year.
