The brutal scenes of violence in the Macedonian parliament on April 27, were presented in the testimony session on “Macedonia and the Crisis in the Balkans”, which was held yesterday in the US Congress.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Yee which was just returned from his visit in Balkans and was closely informed in the meetings he held in Macedonia, gave a speech over this topic.
Every participant in the session strongly condemned the violence in the Macedonian parliament.
Additionally US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State said many Balkan countries, like Albania and Montenegro, want deeper integration to the West and Washington supports them.
But, as he said, Moscow is trying to prevent such a thing by financial and political means, what he described as “malady influence” of Russia.
More specifically, he spoke of a Russian humanitarian center in Nis of Serbia, which he was certain that it aims putting their influence in the creation of public opinion.
Yee said Moscow is also trying to encourage the Serbian Republic to split out of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
