Education in Albania is still a “dream” for many children. A study conducted by “Albanian Coalition for Education”, shows that the situation is alarming and there should be taken measures to respect the right of education all over the country.
Referring to this study, 1 out of 3 children in Albania, abstains from the right of education, due to poverty. Considering this alarming situation, ACE calls on the parliament, government and political forces to increase at least with 6% of the Gross Domestic Product, (GDP) the budget for the education of children.
The study concluded that more than 100.000 students risk to abstain from school due to extreme poverty.
40% of the population lives in poverty;
28% of children are beneficiaries of economic aid;
50.000 children are forced to work during the studies;
64% of the disabled children don’t have the facilities to follow the studies;
